In EarthBound, you can tame animals under the control of Giygas by beating the crap out of them with a cracked bat. At night. Ness is quite the murderer.

While you're fighting animals, though, Porky will screw you up and allow you to take on more damage. He'll pretend to cry, play dead, even use you as a shield. I wonder if you could tame him by beating the crap out of him too...

And yes, I call him Porky. Not Pokey, or Porkey. Porky. Bash me, Mother fans! WOOO!

Hehe I love it when games condone violence and make it happy.
